|The American Girl Cover (June 1962)
"Shooting this month's cover presented a problem. 'Way back in March,' says photographer Vivian Crozier, 'the beach was too cold and windy. So we had to "create" one indoors'." Sometimes models just have to grin and bare it, but it looks like The American Girl went easy on their young models. (It also looks like they didn't have the budget to send them to a warmer climate.) We also see from this comment that the photos for a magazine spread are taken three months before the publication date.
